Punch Taverns searches for new causes

Burton based pub company Punch Taverns is searching for local worthy causes to offer its support to in 2010.

Punch set up the Punch Community Spirit Project (PCSP) in 2007 which aims to promote and support young people within the local area.

A wide range of groups, including charities, schools, sports clubs, welfare groups and hospitals have benefitted from their support and Punch is now looking for worthy causes to support in 2010.

Recent donations have meant that over thirty scouts could go camping, that residents at a local nursing home can improve their activities programme with a Nintendo Wii, a local sports group can take young people rock climbing, an under 11s football team can have a new kit this season and 10 local blind children can experience swimming for the first time!.

Anthony York, head of reward and recognition for Punch says: “We’re very proud of the PCSP’s work in 2009 and we want to continue this in 2010. If any readers know of a deserving cause that needs the help of the PCSP we want to hear from them!

“Perhaps they volunteer for a community group that needs sponsorship, or someone in the family belongs to a club in the local area that could really benefit from some extra funding, or maybe they just want to make a difference to a good cause. Whatever it is, we’d love to hear from them.”
