Punch spreads Christmas cheer at Queen’s Children’s Ward

Christmas has come early for kids at the Queen’s Hospital in Burton after receiving portable DVD players and DVDs donated by Burton based pub company Punch Taverns.

Punch donated the gifts to the Children’s ward through the recently launched Punch Community Promise which involves Punch donating time and money to a variety of local causes such as charities, schools, sports clubs, welfare groups and hospitals.

HR Director, Jackie Burn, said: “Christmas is all about children and Punch wanted to help make it a magical time for them. We are always keen to support our local community through the Punch Community Promise and we hope to have brought a touch of Christmas magic and cheer to those youngsters and hope they all have a fantastic Christmas.”

Matron on the Children’s Ward, Vicki Baldwin, said: “We are really grateful to Punch for donating the DVD players and DVDs. It will provide a great deal of entertainment to the children, especially over the Christmas period.”
