Punch Roadshow Success

Over 60% of Punch Taverns Partners have taken part a £5 million giveaway during the most successful Roadshow season of their 10 year history.

The Punch Buying Club Roadshows ran from 1st to 31st October in ten venues across the UK

The 2013 programme included new venues, Sandown, Wembley and Donington and an additional event to cater for as many partners as possible

The shows featured over 130 industry-leading suppliers, ranging from food and drink to support services. A number of Punch support services and deals were launched at the Roadshows, including the Wine Club and the newly rebranded learning and development team, Punch Progress.

Visitors also have the chance to meet members of the Punch Taverns team and operating board. Punch also continued its £5 million giveaway, where each Punch Partner received a voucher booklet entitling them to redeem a range of offers, such as free glassware or free bar staff training support on the day.

One publican who attended two of the Roadshows was Gregor Robertson who has been running GJs in South West London for 15 years. He explained why he has been coming to the Roadshows for the last nine years: “I’ve visited the Wembley and Sandown Roadshows this year, both are excellent venues. What I liked was the added extras, such as the free Wembley Stadium tour – which was great! – and the Whitby Scampi van.

“I always attend the Roadshows as not only do you get the good deals but you can sample all of the latest food and drinks. It’s also good to come and meet Punch staff and be able to put a face to a name.”

Andy Slee, Central Operations Director said: “We are delighted to be in our tenth year and it’s great to see how successful our Roadshows have been, seeing over 60 per cent of our estate attend the shows.

“This year, the Roadshows have showcased many new suppliers, giving our Partners the opportunity to trial lots of new brands and see innovation from many of the countries’ leading suppliers. We have launched a number of new services our Partners can take advantage of, such as additional savings of up to £6,000 off non-drink related items, such as utilities and design and print services, which has received significant interest.

“Every year, we have seen the Roadshows grow in popularity and footfall. Following the partner and supplier feedback from this year, we believe these have been our most successful yet.”
