Punch offers a helping hand to Bedworth hospice shop

Pub company Punch Taverns has lent a helping hand to The Myton Hospices by painting its Bedworth shop.

Members of the Punch operations team, which cover the Midlands and look after five Punch pubs in Bedworth, decided to paint the shop in All Saints Square to give something back to the community they trade in.

They painted the upstairs of the shop which is used for storage and has needed decorating since the store opened last November.

Paul Linton, Punch operations manager, said: “Pubs are at the heart of the community so we wanted to give something back to the community that have supported our pubs. It was also a great team building opportunity for us.”

Myton’s Corporate Fundraising Manager Hannah Morris said: “We are really grateful to the Punch operations team for taking the time out to help us. We need to raise £6.7 million this year through voluntary donations alone and can’t do it without the support of the local community. The work done by Punch has saved us money and the shop looks great. It is lovely to know we have their support.”

The Myton Hospices have three hospices in Warwick, Coventry and Rugby and provide specialist care for terminally ill patients and their families.

The Bedworth shop is one of 17 branches throughout Coventry and Warwickshire which bring in over £1.5 million a year for the charity.
