One of the UK’s leading pub companies, Punch Taverns, has launched a new Wine of the Month scheme at the Punch Taverns Roadshows.
The Wine Club, which is open to all Punch Partners, will offer a new wine every month.
Registered partners will also receive a POS kit, including tent cards, badges, menu caps and staff training cards to maximise sales of the Wine of the Month.
Punch Partners could also take advantage of the Wine club’s opening offer of two free bottles of Wine of the Month at the Punch Roadshows.
In their 10th year running, the Punch Roadshows started on 1st October in Newcastle at Newcastle Racecourse and will be running up until 31st October where they finish at Chester.
So far, nearly 2,000 pubs have attended the shows to visit over 130 industry-leading suppliers, including Punch support services like the Wine Club as well as the Creative Hub and Risk teams.
Punch Taverns’ John Coe, Trade Marketing Manager said: “We introduced the Wine Club based on feedback from Partner Forums. Partners were requiring a good quality wine each month at an attractive price with support materials to help sell it through.
“We wanted to launch the club at the Roadshows as this is a prime opportunity for our Partners to trial new products and brands and are open to new business ideas that can help grow their business.
“Since the launch, we have received a fantastic response from our Partners. I think they like the fact that it gives them a platform to buy wines at a competitive price with no commitment and to buy each month ultimately supports the sell-through of wine in their pubs. In fact, one customer has likened the club to our Finest Cask scheme, which offers Punch Partners access to a selection of cask ales every six to eight weeks.
“We are really pleased with the response so far – well over 300 Partners have signed up to the scheme. We look forward to interacting with Club members on the Punch Buying Club website and making the Wine of the Month scheme even more successful in 2014.”
Punch is a leading pub company in the UK with approximately 4,000 leased and tenanted pubs nationwide.
