Punch keeps mental health in MIND

Burton based pub company Punch Taverns has donated £880 through its Punch Community Promise to mental health services provider Burton and District MIND.

Punch donated the money towards running two six week courses on anger management and anxiety management and confidence building for up to 15 people on each course.

Lynne Barrell, Centre Manager at Burton and District MIND, said: “We are grateful to Punch Taverns for supporting us in delivering two courses to help people deal with managing their anger and anxiety.

“We have seen a particular increase in demand for this kind of support over the last few months and the donation will mean that we can put on additional six week courses for thirty people.  Feedback from previous courses has shown that they really do help people to better manage their feelings, which in turn boosts their self confidence and helps improve their relationships and sustain employment.”

Burton and District Mind is affiliated to the National Mind organisation and are committed to the quality standards laid down by National Mind. To find out more, visit http://www.burtonmind.co.uk/index.html.

The Punch Community Promise involves Punch donating time and money to a variety of local causes such as charities, schools, sports clubs, welfare groups and hospitals.

To qualify, charities or causes must be located within a 15-mile catchment area of Punch Taverns’ support centre in Burton.
