Burton based pub company, Punch Taverns, has donated over £600 from its Punch Community Spirit Project, to Happy Days Charity to fund a theatre trip and meal out for local youngsters with learning difficulties.
The group from Pingle School, Swadlincote recently went on a trip to see Beauty and the Beast in Birmingham, a trip to Sea-Life Centre followed by supper at McDonalds.
Happy Days Charity helps young people with special needs to enjoy holidays, residential trips, days out and theatre trips throughout the UK and approached the Punch Community Spirit Project to fund a trip for pupils from Pingle School.
Ryan Sinclair of Happy Days comments: “This wonderful trip would that not have been possible without Punch’s help. A trip like this is extremely beneficial to the children’s development, helping the children’s social skills hugely as they are interacting with each other in a new environment.”
The Punch Community Spirit Project (PCSP) was set up to make donations to a variety of organisations such as charities, schools, sports clubs, welfare groups and hospitals.
