A Punch Taverns employee cycled from his home-town in Huddersfield and back to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Punch Community Promise, which donates funds to local causes.
Punch Area Manager, Ian Morley who has been working at the Burton-based pub company for seven years, completed his 150 mile round trip on 25th June.
“Earlier this month, I completed a charity ride in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance as it is a charity close to my heart. This time I wanted to tie-in with the Punch Community Promise as they make so many valuable donations to worthy causes throughout the local area, from schools and sports teams to residential homes and animal charities,” Ian said.
“I’ve been fundraising for various charities for the last four years and have raised a total of £4,500 to date. I plan to raise over £1,000 from this cycle challenge.”
Setting off at 4:30am, it took Ian just under seven hours to reach the Punch head office. Ian spent several hours at the Punch head office fundraising further for the charities before setting off on his uphill ride back.
“It has been extremely exhausting and rewarding, especially as I got two punctures on the way. I want to thank all everyone who has supported me and contributed to two very worthy causes,” he added.
