Punch announces area manager finalists

Pub Company, Punch Taverns, announced the area managers who have become finalists in their Partnership Development Manager of the Year awards.

Three Punch Partnership Development Managers (PDMs) Stuart Plant (who oversees pubs across the West Midlands), Sandi Tipton (who looks after pubs throughout Birmingham) and Alix Horne (who works throughout the South West) have been selected as the Partnership Development Manager of the Year finalists.

The PDM of the Year competition, organised by Punch Taverns, aims to find the stand out PDM who always puts the Partner first, is innovative and proactive, and has helped Punch Partners to deliver fantastic results in their pub businesses.

Earlier in the year, Regional Operations Directors nominated the PDMs that they felt were worthy of the regional PDM of the Year accolade.

Thirteen finalists were selected and, throughout July, winners spent a day in trade with Operations Directors who gave detailed feedback and made a decision on who topped their category.

Stuart Plant was selected as the finalist for the North, Sandi Tipton for South and Alix Horne for the Punch ‘Turnaround’ division.

All three finalists will now spend a day in trade with Chief Operating Officer Neil Griffiths, who has the tough job of deciding on a national winner to be announced at the Company Conference on 11th September.

Tony Pilley, Head of HR, who has supported the running of the competition, said: “As part of our commitment to provide the best support to our Partners, we are always striving to build talent and for our PDMs to perform at their best.

“It has been really inspirational to hear why our PDMs were nominated for the competition.

“The ODs who witnessed these achievements shared some fantastic feedback around the excellent levels of support that PDMs are providing to their Partners and those that go the extra mile to achieve remarkable results.”

“Good luck to all the finalists,” added Tony.
