Hartley Wintney Pub wins Inn of the Year

Punch Taverns’ Phoenix Inn in Hartley Wintney has been named “Inn of the Year UK” by Les Routiers 2012 -13.

Since its inception in Paris in 1935, Les Routiers have continued to identify with hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, bars, bistros and cafes through the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Judges of the leading guide look for individually with a certain quirkiness, excellent cuisine, warm hospitality and value for money. They praised the Phoenix for its consistently exceptional service and hospitality.

Licensee Sisi Ryder, who has been running the Phoenix Inn since November 2009, is delighted to receive this recognition:” I am very proud of the team’s achievement and it is a true recognition of the hard work they all commit to the business.

 “We pride ourselves on creating traditional and speciality home-cooked dishes. All of our food is locally sourced with the emphasis on freshness and quality. It’s wonderful to be rewarded for our efforts.

 “We always try to go the extra mile to make sure our customers have an excellent experience every time they visit us.  We are thrilled to receive this award, particularly as it recognises the service we provide to our customers.   Each year we are seeing the same customers returning to us, so this award is for the whole team, for their perseverance and hard work.”

This comes after the pub won the award for the UK’s Best Sunday Roast in
November 2012.
