High Lane pub to reopen after makeover

The Bulls Head is set to reopen with a brand new look on 6th June after a major investment of £125,000 by the new licensees Mike Hynes and Collette Crowley, along with owners Punch Taverns, a leading pub company in the UK.

Situated on Buxton Road, the pub has been closed whilst it underwent a major transformation to improve the overall look and feel of the pub.

Inside, the pub has been completely redecorated in a contemporary style to give a fresher look and feel, whilst retaining the traditional elements such as the exposed wooden beams and open fireplaces.

The pub will now be serving food and a new menu has been created featuring home-made traditional pub classics including sharing platters. There will also be a childrens menu.

The pub now boasts a larger drink selection and will have three cask handpulls which will rotate depending on customer demand.

The outdoor dining area has been extended so customers can sit out in the warmer months and enjoy the views of the Macclesfield canal.

For Mike and Collette, this is their first Punch pub: “Considering the pub’s location, we could see the Bull’s Head potential to become a gateway to the canal and we have developed the outdoor drinking area so customers can take advantage of the picturesque views,” said Mike.

“We will be introducing locally-sourced home-made food and a good selection of drinks, including cask ale. We will be offering the community something different and a range of facilities to suit all, along with a great customer experience,” Collette added.

“I’m thrilled with the pub’s new look, it has blended the pub’s traditional charm and character with contemporary features, creating a more stylish and welcoming ambience as well as a warm and cosy atmosphere.

“It is back at the heart of the community and I look forward to welcoming customers old and new to the new look Bull’s Head.”

Punch Taverns’ Partnership Development Manager, Matthew Dutton, is also excited about the refurbishment: “It’s great that Punch can invest in their pubs and keep the spirit of the local community pub alive.  We have been able to utilise the pub’s location to attract families with a quality food and drinks offering.

“I expect the launch to be busy with local residents eager to see the pub’s transformational new look.”
