With the arrival of winter, Burton based Punch Taverns has linked up with local Fire and Police services to educate its teams on the importance of road safety, accident prevention and crime awareness.
Representatives from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue and the Staffordshire Police service joined a special safety awareness event at Punch Taverns’ support centre on Centrum 100 on Monday 22nd November.
Safety officers were on hand to give advice to Punch team members on how to stay safe on the county’s roads; particularly accident black spots such as the A38, as well as providing tips on staying safe in the home and being more vigilant to crime in the area.
Risk reduction manager Nigel Burton said: “We’ve shown employees at Punch some dramatic but powerful videos to demonstrate the devastating effects that road accidents can have. The number of accidents on the A38 is on the increase and with more inclement weather on the way it’s important that drivers take extra care. Opportunities like this help us get the safety message to as many drivers as possible.”
Punch’s head of property, Stephen Allen said: “We’re delighted to be working with both the Fire and Police services to promote safety in the area. We have over 600 employees at our Burton support centre and many of them travel up and down the county’s busy roads daily. We’re very grateful to that the officers who for taking the time to provide this important advice and helping our teams to safe this winter.”
